I'm not gonna lie

I painted a little spot of the new gray paint on my living room wall and I'm not gonna lie...I am not in love with it yet.  But if I am being honest (and I always am) I have yet to find a color that I instantaneously fall in love with the moment it goes up.  There are many factors to consider.  One being how that color compares to the color you are painting over.  For instance, last night after I painted my "spot" of gray I asked my husband how he liked the new wall color.  He gazed around the room and judging from the look on his face, he saw no diference.  "That color over there" and I pointed.  "Oh that, I thought somebody spilled something".  WOW is all I can say to that.  If I may digress for a moment-where has he been for the last five years since I have been painting walls in our lives?  Does he not know the agony I go through to choose a paint color?  Or for that matter, when I choose anything?  I think about paint colors for weeks and when I finally choose one, I always hate it and my sister in law always makes me feel better about it, all the while knowing it is hideous but she is simply too sweet to hurt my feelings.  A character trait that I certainly did not inherit, though I am working on that : )  Anyway, back to the point, yes, husband you are right.  The light gray on top of the tannish does look a little like, well, a spill.  Of what I am not sure, but until I paint the whole wall it will remain looking spillish.  Then I can decide.  And you will be among the first to know how I like it.  And if I don't, the lovely Jerry's paint mixer told me I can bring my cans back and they can add to them to adjust the hue.  Hmmmm....
